Hayagriva Jayanthi

Today is also Hayagriva Jayanthi. Hayagreeva is an avatara of Lord Vishnu who is worshipped as God of Knowledge and Wisdom. He is said to be the protector of Vedas. He restored vedas from the Rakshasas and gave it back to Lord Brahma

ज्ञानानन्द मयं देवं निर्मल स्फटिकाकृतिं
आधारं सर्वविद्यानं हयग्रीवं उपास्महे
