Erstwhile Sankara Bhaktha Sabha, now known as Sankara Bhaktha Sabha Trust, a newly constituted body and registered as a non-profitable Charitable Trust was started in the year 1968 with the blessings of His Holiness Paramacharyal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The Sabha with the supreme grace of the Divine and the ever-flowing compassion of the great Acharyals of Kanchi has been successfully rendering yeoman service in Religious & Spiritual Activities.
With the spontaneous cooperation and financial help extended by the Patrons, Charitable Institutions and General Public, the Sabha was able to acquire and construct the Prestigious VEDA BHAVAN at Road No.1, Chandragiri Colony, Neredmet, Hyderabad and the same was inaugurated by H.H. Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi in the year 1997. Since then, the Sabha has been functioning at Veda Bhavan.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The Sabha shall function purely as an Organisation for the spiritual & moral up-liftment . It shall –
- Offer a day’s Biksha to His Holiness Shri. Jagadguru Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam from the amount subscribed during Chatur Masya every Year.
- Visit patients in the hospitals once a week, distribute ‘Prasad’ (Veebhuthi and Kumkum) of His Holiness and Books of devotional songs and Hymns, thus invoking in them a sense of devotion to God, which would go a long way towards their speedy recovery.
- Inculcate in the people the importance of the Scheme ‘Contribution of a handful of rice daily’ (Pidi Arisi Thittam), to further propagate the scheme, distribute the cooked rice amongst poor as ‘prasad’ after offering it to the God.
- Aid financially (Samskara Sahayam) for the Scheme for the cremation/last rites of those who die as orphans in the Hospitals and streets
